And the holiday begins

Charles de Gaulle definitely looked better since I last saw it. Our arrival was pleasant though we were shown the tarmac instead of an aerobridge. Funny cos I would have thought its national carrier would have pride of place at their airport.

I was also presented with a stalk of lily of the valley by a young lady at baggage claims. It’s something the French do on labour day – which is a nice departure from regular arrivals and the lethargic immigration officer drinking coffee and mindlessly stamping passports in his window. I read that they give the flowers out on the streets, but it was rather unexpected at baggage claims. Guess it’s Spring, it’s a public holiday and it’s culture. I like it.
